Abstract:
The engineering field compaction characteristics and particle breakage of the cement-stabilized aggregate base layer with recycled aggregates(RA) from construction and demolition waste (CDW) were studied.Based on SmartRock sensors,the acceleration,particle rotation and internal particle vibration energy transfer characteristics of cement-stabilized aggregate mixtures (CSRA) containing RA from CDW under engineering compaction machinery,and the particle breakage effects of field compaction and laboratory static compaction on the CSRA mixtures were analyzed.Test results show that the particles acceleration under the weak vibration of heavy steel-wheel vibratory roller is 10~45 times that of static compaction;the aggregate particles under static compaction mainly turn along the vertical direction and transverse sides,and the particles under the steel-wheel roller machine weak vibration mainly turn along the vertical directions.When the aggregate particles under static compaction,the vibration energy is along the vertical and longitudinal directions.When the aggregate particles under the heavy steel-wheel vibratory roller weak vibration,the vibration energy is transferred along the vertical and traveling directions.The particle breakage of CSRA mixtures under field compaction is not serious as compared to laboratory static compaction,and the breakage index of aggregate particles under laboratory static compaction is 20% higher than that under field compaction.The sub-particle distribution curve of CSRA mixture under field compaction is intermittent,and the sub-particle distribution curve of CSRA mixture under laboratory static compaction is continuous.
