    An Analysis Method for Tunnel Stability Based on BIM Technology and Numerical Simulation

    • BIM technology provides a fundamental platform for the digitalization and intelligentization of tunnel projects.However,due to its lack of capabilities for mechanical analysis,it is unable to effectively predict the deformation characteristics,support performance,and failure process of tunnels,which limits its application in project design and construction.This study combines the advantages of BIM technology and numerical simulation and proposes an automated analysis method.A three-dimensional geological BIM model containing various strata and fault zones is first developed;a tunnel component library is created;and an algorithm for the adaptive placement of tunnel components along the tunnel axis is proposed.A parametric modeling approach for tunnel BIM models is therefore proposed.Through visual programming and scripting,the automatic conversion between BIM models and numerical models,as well as the integration of calculation results,is achieved.The proposed analysis method is applied and validated in the excavation of the tunnel portal section at the Xiang’an Airport Expressway in Xiamen.The deformation characteristics of the surrounding rock and support components under different construction scenarios are analyzed.
